Abstract Two 1050MW units in a thermal power plant are connected by generator transformer unit. There is no circuit breaker at the outlet of the generator. The connection between the generator and the main transformer is full chain split phase enclosed bus. The generator is connected to 500kV power distribution device after being boosted by the main transformer. The normal unit must rely on the start-up/standby power supply provided by the start-up/standby transformer to start and stop. This project mainly studies that the generator transformer unit adopts unit connection, the thermal power unit with no circuit breaker at the generator outlet will use the main transformer reverse power transmission of adjacent units or the high-voltage station transformer of adjacent units to provide the standby power for starting when the start-up/standby power supply is not available, and the mutual standby mode will be used after the start-up of the unit to ensure the safe shutdown of the unit in case of emergency.
