Abstract Static frequency converter (SFC) reliability, start-up success rate and other indicators directly affect the safe and stable operation of the unit and the ability to adjust the power load. It is also the core control equipment of large synchronous units. This paper briefly introduces the topology structure and trigger mechanism of static frequency converter, analyzes the cause and process of the fault through the working condition of the bridge short-circuit fault caused by the bridge drive error trigger in the SFC system of Ximeng condenser, and verifies the sensitivity of the variable frequency differential protection with fast action of SFC system, which is of great significance to promote the development of domestic SFC technology.
