Analysis of fault operation of communicated three-phase trip of 500kV circuit breaker protection |

Abstract Communicated three-phase trip is widely used and plays an important role in 500kV relay protection. This function is mostly accomplished by internal logic judgment of circuit breaker protection, but there are some differences among manufactures. The reason of a fault operation case of communicated three-phase trip of 500kV circuit breaker protection is analyzed, and the logic of communicated three-phase of several type 500kV circuit breaker protections is summarized. Some suggestions about relay maintenance are given in the end.
