Abstract The construction status of Yunnan-Guizhou interconnection channel project is introduced. The overall architecture, function design, software and hardware implementation of the remote control interface (RCI) for the high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission project are described. After the functional performance test (FPT) and dynamic performance test (DPT) verification, the RCI meets the needs of Yunnan-Guizhou interconnection channel project and has been put into commercial operation on June 11, 2020. This paper has a certain guiding significance for the research and design of RCI for the ultra high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission project, HVDC transmission project, back-to-back DC transmission project and flexible DC transmission project.
