Abstract In this paper, the status and the problems of urban distribution network in our country have been first analyzed. Secondly, combined with the development of 20kV distribution network in parts of our country, the establishment of the smart electricity system, and micro-network concept proposed, there discusses the development direction of future distribution network thoroughly. Finally, the possible development directions of urban distribution network in different regions of our country in future are pointed out respectively.
