Abstract  The phenomenon of three-phase load imbalance widely exists in low-voltage substation area. The configuration of phase-change switch is an effective treatment means. Optimizing the action strategy of phase-change switch all day should take into account the treatment effect of three-phase imbalance and the limitation of equipment action times. This paper presents a practical method of commutation optimization for the treatment of three-phase imbalance in low-voltage station area. Firstly, the prediction results of load curve in the station area are used, and control period division is performed based on fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm. Secondly, genetic algorithm is used to optimize the phase of phase-change switch in each control period, the day ahead optimization of phase-change switch action is realized, and the limitation of equipment action times is taken into account. Finally, an example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method can optimize the phase-change switch action from the perspective of full cycle of the whole day.
