Abstract  The series resonant charging equipment based on high frequency transformer is one of the advanced charging methods of capacitive pulse power supply. The existing literature has done a lot of research on its charging principle, mainly focusing on the mathematical modeling of the charging process and the performance comparison with other charging methods. This paper aims at the special phenomenon that the charging error of this kind of charging equipment is related to the number of parallel modules in actual use. Firstly, the mechanism of charging error is studied according to the actual circuit topology, and the quantitative relationship between charging error and load is deduced. Furthermore, the correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified by combining the finite element method and circuit simulation. Finally, the control scheme to eliminate the error is proposed and the experimental verification is completed. The conclusion of related research has certain practical significance for optimizing the capacitive pulse power supply system of the electromagnetic launcher.
