Abstract In order to solve the problems such as cylinder rupture, air leakage, equipment heating, short circuit and other safety accidents caused by the deformation of gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear (GIS) bellows in substation at high altitude, this paper designs and implements GIS bellows condition monitoring system by combining embedded technology and LoRa wireless communication technology. The system transmitting data by LoRa wireless technology, which can realize online monitoring of GIS bellows deformation, temperature and other states. It has the advantages of low cost and easy deployment and implementation. Through the test verification, the system function can meet the requirements. This system can reduce the workload of substation operation and maintenance personnel, and also provides a guarantee for the long-term reliable operation of GIS equipment.
