Abstract This paper is based on the principle which the frequency response method about the deformation of Transformer Winding. Using the advantages of embedded FPGA core and parallel processing, designs the transformer winding deformation tester. The signal generator utilizes FPGA to control the AD9854 generating sweep signal. The sweep frequency band ranges 0~8MHz. The pure sine wave signal is obtained by Low-pass filter and finally by the amplitude amplification and power amplification for generating the test signal of transformer winding. This device can measure the magnitude and phase frequency characteristics of transformer, through the software increases separation test of the frequency curve and phase curve. Taking the samples directly and using the RMS conversion method to obtain the signal in the amplitude-frequency test make the measurement of amplitude-frequency characteristics more quickly.
