Abstract The application of passive wireless temperature measurement system in the switch cabinet, enough to achieve early warning of hidden faults because of the overheating contacts,which can ensure the long-term and reliable operation of the high voltage electrical switch devices. The characteristics of the passive wireless sensor, requires good distribution of the electromagnetic field between the transmitting antenna and the sensor antenna in order to guarantee a reliable temperature signal acquisition.Based on the passive wireless temperature sensing system for the applicable premise, the paper deeply analysis the standing waves characteristics of the electromagnetic field distribution in the switch cabinet, and simulating and experimental verificating the factors which may affect stationary wave characteristic, meanwhile, proposing its engineering applications.
