Abstract In order for distribution automation devices for effective communication protocol conformance testing, a communication protocol conformance testing system of distribution automation is designed and implementated.The distribution automation equipment communication protocol and IEC 60870 conformance testing are analysised. The hardware structure and function of system are described. Architecture and Construction of software are designed using UML. The test method of tesing system is discussed and the corresponding of test methods and conformance testing is generalized.The system can be accurate, complete interoperability and performance testing of distribution automation system master station, sub station and terminal equipment. And this system has high practical value in admittance testing, engineering acceptance, daily development of distribution automation equipments.
