Abstract In order to guarantee the protection movement speed, In the Universal design of GIS CT configuration ,protect CT winding are generally arranged on the circuit breaker near the outgoing feeder (or near the transformer). After the technical analysis that the scheme may cause the action to protection the non selective, enlarge the problem off range, increase the troubleshooting time in certain circumstances. Based on the above reasons, this paper proposes a protection CT winding layout scheme between the breakers and bus, this scheme can overcome the shortcomings of the original scheme, reduce the power outage, shorten the outage time, reduces the power supply enterprise and the social public power loss.
