Abstract The combined three-phase inverter studied in the paper is based on the design of single-phase inverter. and adopts individual phase modulation to control each voltage,making the output voltages of three-phase inverter symmetrical. The input sides of combined inverter are powered by an intermediate frequency generator, while the output side is connected directly to form a neutral line. The topology inverter can meet symmetric or asymmetric three-phase load operation, and also can satisfy the single-phase load operation. In the paper, just one DSP processor is applied to generate 12 PWM waves, which saves the resource of chips. The experimental result shows that the solution meets the demand of inverter, and the symmetry of output three-phase voltage is favorable.
