Abstract:Online resistive current monitoring can detect early insulation faults in metal oxide arresters (MOA). Measurement accuracy depends on leakage current and bus voltage sampling synchronization. The wireless MOA monitoring systems are easy to install but have synchronization limitations. This paper proposes a kind of long range radio (LoRa)-based time synchronization solution. The physical layer broadcast of the server broadcasts achieves μs-level sync between aggregation nodes and terminals. Terminals are self-powered, requiring specialized power management scheme. A floating coefficient dynamically calculates next wake-up thresholds. This significantly improves monitoring data real-time performance.
