Abstract:To address the limitations and operational challenges of applying the altitude correction method for voltage withstand tests in high-altitude areas, as specified in the new standard DL/T 1476—2023 for preventive testing of electrical safety tools, a comparative approach is used to analyze the altitude correction formulas in the new standard against those in GB/T 20626.1—2017. Using an insulating rod as an example, new correction formulas for voltage withstand tests are proposed for both segmented and non-segmented conditions, along with application instructions. The study found that the newly proposed correction formulas are more suitable for testing institutions located at altitudes between 1 000 m and 5 000 m, offering better practicality and alignment with actual conditions. This research fills the gaps in existing standards and provides reference for altitude correction in voltage withstand tests of electrical safety tools and for the future revision of the standard DL/T 1476—2023.
