Abstract:To address the issues in the teaching of radio measurement technology—difficulties in spatial cognition, limited practical scenarios, and insufficient spectrum data analysis capabilities—this paper proposes a method that deeply integrates geographic information system (GIS) technology into the course. By establishing an integrated “theory-data-practice” teaching system, GIS spatial visualization is used to realize dynamic coupling between radio wave propagation models and geographic environments. Virtual environments help break constraints of equipment and sites. Spatiotemporal data management enhances the spatial analysis of spectrum data. Experiments cover signal source localization and propagation model validation, forming a full-process teaching model. Practice shows this method effectively improves students’ understanding of radio wave spatial behavior and their ability to solve complex engineering problems, providing a paradigm for spatial teaching reform in science and engineering. Future work will incorporate real-time spectrum data and artificial intelligence (AI) analysis modules, and optimize the teaching evaluation system.
