A method of AC withstand voltage test for large turbo-generator

Abstract  AC withstand voltage test is a must-do test for a large turbo-generator during manufacture, installation, hand-over, maintenance and preventive test. From the main insulation or thermal break-through aspects, the test voltage waveform type and frequency should be consistent with the generator’s corresponding operating parameters. Due to this reason, a method suitable for the large turbo-generator AC withstand voltage test is designed, which effectively reduces the volume of the traditional series resonance equipment, and also avoids the frequency offset and harmonic influence of the variable frequency resonance method, thus greatly improving the efficiency of the large turbo-generator AC withstand voltage test.
