Abstract:Power stations to supply electricity for remote oilfields are mostly located in separated areas. During the modification period, the power supply to the users is not available. Because of the operation with single main transformer, the reliability is reduced in half. The power supply risk is increased accordingly. Especially the operation failure risk of the main transformer will be a potential disaster to the main loads and is not acceptable. During the design of the modification, the measure against this risk shall be considered at the beginning. Power facility for temporary use shall be built if condition allows---even technically unreasonable. If condition not allows, considering the big loss caused by power supply interrupt, a proposal for emergency power supply to key users shall be established, so as to be positive during the modification.
