Abstract:With the distributed power generation, distributed energy storage large access to distribution network, The distribution grid enable passive grid into active grid, which complex network topology, bi-directional power flow posed a serious challenge on the safe operation of distribution grid. IEEE 1588 precision clock synchronization protocol using network time, has the advantages of low cost, high efficiency, once applied in distribution network, achieve synchronous sampling on the key nodes, which help smart distribution power flow calculation, fault isolation, islanding detection and micro-grid autonomous operation.The principle on IEEE 1588 is described, The specific programs and schematic about the IEEE158 applying in above field is introduced, believed that IEEE 1588 in the smart grid have broad application prospects.
