Abstract:The locating and sizing of DGs (Distributed Generators) are studied and transformed into a multi-objective nonlinear planning problem by considering three indices: power losses, bus voltage stability and line voltage stability. Then the multi-objective optimization is reformulated as a single-objective optimization problem by means of normalized-weight theory. The PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm is used to achieve the optimal locating and sizing of DG. Comparison is carried out between the presented method and the traditional method, and the case study on IEEE 33-bus system verifies the correctness and effectiveness of the new method.
