Study of Insulation Detection of DC System for Substation

Abstract:In order to improve the reliability of the DC system in substation, the insulation of DC bus and branches should be monitored real-timely. The principle of insulation detection both based unbalanced and balanced bridge was analyzed, and the deficiency was pointed out. The voltage of positive & negative buses and the leak current of branches before and after the detection resistance put into the system were used to detect the insulation resistance. The resistances of all branches were detected and measured even if both the positive and negative of multi-branches were grounding at the same time.
