Abstract:To judge whether the isolator inside GIS equipment is in closing or opening position, it needs reading the indicator fixed on the operating mechanisms of GIS equipment, because of the metal-enclosed feature of GIS equipment. By analyzing the shortcomings of the indicator used to indicate the open and close positions of isolators, a new indicator which is more precise than the old one can be developed. The new precise indicator is fixed on a crank arm which is connecting directly with the moving contact of isolator, and can measure the turning angle of the operating mechanisms. By using the relation between the turning angle and the isolator travel, it can be judged that whether the isolator is in closing or opening position. Thus, the operation reliability of isolators is improved, and the misoperation of operators is lessened.
