Abstract：This thesis analyzed the occurring regularity of damages caused by birds on transmission lines in Puyang area through statistical analysis and then put forward the corresponding countermeasures against those problems. Various measures are taken to protect the insulators and the results indicate that the improvements can help find the existing faults in time and increase the reliability of transmission lines while using composite insulators on transmission lines.
