Abstract:This paper firstly introduced the basic principle of STATCOM, then supplied the overview of this project application. In order to satisfy the distribution network requirements to reactive power compensation equipment, integrated control method of voltage and reactive power, including corresponding parameters adjusting method was proposed, and its validity was verified by PSIM simulation model. STATCOM equipment with this control method was successfully applied in Guangdong power grid project. The good application effect proved that this control method could make power supplying more reliable and more stable.
