Abstract:The transverse-flux permanent magnet motor’s direction of rotation is perpendicular to the magnetic fluxes of the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet, which solves the conventional problem of constrained permanent magnet motor circuit and magnetic circuit. Thus, it has promising applications in low-speed direct-drive wind power generation for its merits of low speed and torque density. In this paper, the radially-magnetized dual winding transverse-flux permanent magnet generator is proposed due to the low utilization rate of flux-switching transverse-flux permanent magnet wind generator. After the basic structure and principle of the radially-magnetized dual winding transverse flux permanent magnet generator is presented,in order to the main parameters for the motor design ,the electromagnetic formula is derived by the empirical formula of the conventional permanent magnet motor. In additional, the parameters including no-load flux-linkage, no-load EMF, air gap flux density are analyzed by 3-D finite element method through the ANSYS Maxwell software, which verify the rationality of the design of this machine.
