Analysis method of DC line protection performance based on time-space characteristics

Abstract:Since the traditional DC line protection analysis method has the defect that it cannot fully show the characteristics of DC lines protection. Based on the in-depth analysis of the existing protection schemes, this paper proposes a protection performance analysis method based on time-space characteristics (TSC). The action time of protection under different fault distances and different fault transition resistances is comprehensively considered, aiming to understand the performance of different protection schemes intuitively, clearly and comprehensively. The PSCAD/EMTDC simulation platform is used to analyze the non-unit protection, unit protection and protection system of the DC line. It is verified that this method has great advantages in reflecting the action characteristics of different DC line protections and provides direction for the optimization of DC line protection.
