Abstract:The analysis and treatment of online monitoring of a defect in 500kV transformer has been introduced in this paper. After the discovery of excessive hydrocarbon of transformer oil through the chromatography online monitoring device, overheat fault of transformer was figured out combined with offline oil test data, and emergency response measures were took. It was found after blackout HV test that non-excited tap changer had a bad connection. This problem caused the overheat of contact and excessive hydrocarbon. The workers dealt with the defect timely, and solved the fault in the early. Then a serious equipment accident has been avoided.
