Abstract：Tradional checkup discharge for the accumulator of substation takes huge amount of workload,and in addition,it must be done once in two years,and an security problem of the accumulator may occur in the duration. This paper analyses a method of accumulator maintaining which is based on staged discharge in the aspect of testing discharge and accumulator internal resistance test. The theorem,composition,designing of the method are introduced in detail and it establishes a mathematical model about estatmating the health conditions of accumulator. The application in practice indicates that the method mentioned above is simple and reliable. As well it is able to estimate the health conditions of accumulator efficiently,which has high practical and spreading significance.
