Abstract Nowadays power battery is still evolving technology bottlenecks to electric vehicles. It is very important for the development and application of electric vehicles is to understanding of the power battery characteristics. Therefore,this paper reviews the status and tests of power battery,introduces the power battery testing in laboratoriesand and considers the test program of actual working conditions of electric vehicle power battery characteristics.This paper also proposed an improved testing program of power battery which test under the actual working conditions.It provide effective technical means to understand the operating characteristics of the powert battery.
