Abstract Put forward a faultforecasting model of bird damage based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). A large number of bird damage data had been accumulated in the years of power distribution system operation and maintenance work, from a region of Zhejiang 2010—2016 10kV distribution line bird damage data, statistics on the distribution of bird damage in distribution lines. By analyzing the distance between the towers and the geographic features in the samples, the fault forecasting model is established by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and the prediction results were graded and verified. Finally, put forward preventions and suggestions on the bird damage in the distribution line from a region of Zhejiang.
