Real time detection method for operation short circuit ratio of ultra high voltage direct current system and its application in control systems |

Abstract The AC/DC interaction during the fault of DC system in the weak AC strong DC hybrid system may affect the stability of the regional power grid. A method of calculating the equivalent impedance and source voltage of AC systems, based on the equivalent circuit of AC/DC hybrid system, is proposed in this paper. By combining the process of switching AC filters in the DC converter station, a real-time detection method of the AC system equivalent parameter is achieved. Based on the equivalent parameter of the AC system and the relevant electrical quantities of the DC converter station, the operation short circuit ratio of ultra high voltage direct current system is defined, which could be used for quantitative analysis of the strength contrast between the AC system and the DC system. Finally, an analysis is conducted on the oscillation problem during DC line fault process of a typical weak AC strong DC system. Combined with real-time detection of DC system operation short circuit ratio, optimization of DC control parameters is achieved, solving the oscillation problem during DC line fault process.
