Abstract In the identification of distribution network fault, the line and equipment information of distribution network are needed.For organize and describe 3-D models better, dynamically in the 3D visualization environment of transmission lines, designed and proposed the Power Equipment Markup Language, and further employed COLLADA technology to achieve the three-dimensional dynamic modeling of overhead transmission lines and apparatuses such as insulators, etc. Realized the revealing and connecting dynamically of the three dimensional models such as the earth's surface, insulators, pole towers, circuits, etc. Have offered real-time three-dimensional views and states of the transmission lines, Meet the expansibility requirement of the three dimensional models caused by frequent change of the transmission lines.
