Analysis on the Application of Series Compensation Technology based on the Fast Switch for a 10kV Line |

Abstract The series compensation technology plays an important role to improve the line’s transmission capacity and stability of the distribution network . This paper puts the application of series compensation in 10kV Liangshan line of Hechi area in Guangxi Province as a case, discusses the principle of the fixed series compensation technology, analyses the current situation and problems of 10kV Liangshan line, proposes a series compensation scheme based on fast switch. By selecting the installation location and calculating the series compensation capacity, the plan has been completed. Implementation effect showed that: The series compensation scheme based on fast switching mode has a better ability to improve the terminal voltage and the stability of the transmission line, and is suitable for application in Liangshan 10kV lines.
