Influence of Different Slot/Pole Combination on Electromagnetic Noise in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors |

Abstract For Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, especially fractional-slot motors, the choice of slot/pole combination have a bigger influence on electromagnetic noise. A suitable slot/pole combination can reduce the electromagnetic noise obviously. In this paper, orders and frequencies of the radial magnetic force in different slot/pole combination have been deduced firstly. In this process, the conditions of producing unbalanced magnetic force have been presented. Secondly, three motors with different slot/pole are used to experiment. The sound pressure level spectrum of PMSM have been obtained in different frequencies. The experiment results prove the conclusion that have been mentioned above is correct.
