Research on solid state fault current limiter in distribution network under the power-electronized trend |

Abstract The power-electronized trend in distribution network will put forward higher requirements about the stability and reliability of the power system. Solid-state fault current limiter can overcome some inherent defects of the traditional fault current limiter by virtue of its flexible control and fast response, which is more suitable for the future distribution network. The state-of-art and development prospect of typical solid-state fault current limiter are summarized in this paper, and the mathematical model and working model of the bridge solid state fault current limiter are deduced in detail. Based on PSCAD software, the model of distribution network with bridge type solid state fault current limiter is constructed. The simulation result shows that the solid state fault current limiter has good current limiting effect and meets the development demand of the power-electronized distribution network.
