Abstract  Aiming at the negative sequence problem caused by the load asymmetry of electrified railway traction substation, a negative sequence current optimization method based on railway static power conditioner (RPC) compensation is proposed. Taking the power supply system with V/v traction transformer as the object, the principle of negative sequence current and RPC power compensation are analyzed, then the negative sequence current optimization model of V/v traction power supply system based on RPC power compensation is constructed. IPOPT optimization tool is proposed to solve the model based on Matlab platform and YALMIP toolbox, and the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed model and method are verified by simulation analysis. Resultsshow that the RPC power compensation can effectively suppress the negative sequence current in the V/v traction power supply system, and the power quality of the electrified railway can be guaranteed.
