Abstract Common large-scale power electronic devices in power systems include: SVC devices, Fixed ice-melting devices, TCSC devices, FSC devices, etc. The daily power outage maintenance and equipment commissioning tests are important aspects to ensure the safety of equipment and Power systems. Usually the detection method cannot meet the needs of the test before putting into use. This article discusses the low-voltage test methods of VBE, TE board, and thyristor components of large-scale power electronic equipment, and proposes the realization of the VBE control signal generator. The VBE control signal generator has the functions of the VBE and part functions of the adjustment- system. This article discusses the implementation of the VBE control signal generator, include functions of the VBE and part functions of the adjustment-system. The low-voltage test of VBE, TE plate, and thyristor was implemented by using two low-voltage test methods, include single mode and composite mode by using VBE control signal generator.
