Abstract  The correct configuration of low voltage distribution network protection is related to the safe and stable operation of distribution network. This paper first analyzes the possible problems of three kinds of protection methods in engineering application from the perspective of principle, then studies the common faults in low-voltage distribution network, and points out that different types of ground faults have different fault characteristics and should be distinguished; discusses the effectiveness of different protection measures for various low-voltage distribution network faults, it has a guiding significance for the configuration of actual project site protection in low-voltage distribution networks.
Key wordslow-voltage      overcurrent protection      zero-sequence current protection      residual current protection      fault
