Abstract In order to understand the abnormal alarm signal of the converter valve cooling system module out-of-tolerance, on-site processing, analysis, and simulation research on the alarm of the converter valve cooling system on this issue, and the converter valve cooling system program used in this station. The principle is tested and analyzed, and the research results show that the abnormal alarm signal of the converter valve cooling system module is caused by the DC control protection system only detecting the jump signal uploaded by the converter valve cooling system. When the communication fails, the alarm signal is restored. After the communication is restored, the DC control protection system still cannot detect the current state of the converter valve cooling system, and maintains the output of the original alarm signal. Finally, the preventive measures are given based on the accident handling process and the cause of abnormal alarm signals such as module out-of-tolerance, which provides a reference for the safe and stable operation and maintenance of the converter valve cooling of the UHV converter station in the future.
