Abstract When the rotor of a turbine generator in a nuclear power plant is repaired for the first time and insulation defects occur in the winding, the rotor retaining ring should be removed by induction heating method for inspection and treatment. According to the actual situation of the power station and the demand of the retaining ring disassembly, after analysis and calculation, this paper uses the 10kV box-type substation decommissioned during the construction period as the induction heating power supply for generator rotor retaining ring according to the optimal single-winding power supply scheme, and it has been successfully applied in the first overhaul of two million-kilowatt turbogenerators and the treatment of rotor insulation defects, which effectively guarantees the overhaul period of nuclear power plant generators and saves the overhaul cost.
