The New Method Based on Improvement EMD End Effect for Power Quality Analysis |

Abstract The thesis aim at the end effect problem of empirical mode decomposition (EMD), put forward a new method based on extreme point symmetry continuation to process endpoint. Through connecting two adjacent maximum or minimum points of short-time signal sequence boundaries, comparing its corresponding value in the boundary with the value in endpoint, according to the enveloping principle to select one as the maximum or minimum value of border, then carry on the EMD decomposition. Applies this method to the power system harmonic identify, the simulation results show that this method can improve the EMD end effect effectively and identify harmonic modes of the signal accurately.
