Abstract A control strategy for improving power system damping is introduced with double-fed induction generator (DFIG) by use of power system stabilizer(PSS).According to vector control, this paper analyzes the damping control principle, designs the PSS model, and provides the model parameters setting method. In IEEE four machine two area system, the time response simulation is conducted, and the application of PSS on double-fed induction generator is verified to be effective and feasible.
