Abstract As the third generation typical elements of FACTS devices, UPFC has many flexible means of control , which has important application value. The simulation model generally consists of three modules, which include the sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) signal generation module, the voltage source converter (VSC) control modules and UPFC controller proportional integral (PI) control circuit. VSC is made of three-phase full-controlled bridge circuit, whose switching devices use of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT). The gate signal is generated by means of SPWM, but the signal generated by the controller,so it can constitute a complete simulation model of UPFC. We can see rapid recovery from simulate analysis through the UPFC.
