Abstract The problem of difficult grid-connected of wind power in the northeast of China has restricted the development of local wind power industry. Jilin province and eastern Inner Mongolia are the most serious abandoned wind power areas in northeast of China, where those phenomenon and reason were analyzed in this paper. Countermeasures for reduction of abandoned wind power in northeast of China were proposed. The results can provide data support for decreasing abandoned wind power in wind power industry.
