Abstract:Against the backdrop of new engineering discipline construction, this paper addresses such challenges in the teaching of electronic information foundation courses as insufficient integration of professional education and ideological and political education, rigid curriculum content, inadequate research-oriented teaching methods, and overemphasis on results over process in teaching evaluation. Guided by the concept of outcome-based education, the paper takes curriculum development, teaching, learning, and assessment as the core approaches to construct a “five-dimensional tracking” teaching system, which conducts continuous monitoring of the course teaching process and quality: specifically, it tracks the integration of ideological and political goals with professional competency goals to enhance students’ learning motivation and strengthen the cultivation of their sense of responsibility, monitors the engineering-oriented nature of curriculum content to consolidate the foundation of engineering knowledge, tracks the synergy between information-based curriculum resources, teaching materials and curriculum content to lead the development of cutting-edge curriculum, monitors the implementation of research-oriented teaching models to improve students’ autonomous learning ability and engineering practice ability, and tracks multi-dimensional teaching evaluation and closed-loop feedback teaching management to optimize the student-centered continuous improvement mechanism of course teaching. After eight years of research and practice, one national first-class course and eight provincial first-class courses have been developed, multiple majors have been assisted in passing the engineering education professional accreditation, students’ engineering practice and innovation abilities have been significantly improved, and a group of outstanding graduates and moral education models have been cultivated for the industry and society.
