Abstract:The electric field in different regions of various types of shielding enclosures for a ±2 400 kV/200 mA ultra high voltage direct current test equipment is analyzed to obtain the maximum electric field value and its location and provide evidence for the optimized design of insulation structures. Ansoft software is used to conduct a two-dimensional finite element analysis of the electric field in the equipment’s grading ring area. The advantage of an integral grading ring in having smaller design dimensions in indoor environments with limited space is demonstrated. The simulation analysis results presented in this article provide reference for subsequent optimized designs of ultra high voltage direct current test equipment.
