Abstract Principle of GIS AC voltage withstand test is presented. According to the field experiment, test parameters are selected. A set of experiment apparatus which quality factors can reach above 40 are combined. The set of system has been successfully applied in AC withstand voltage test of 220-750kV GIS in northwest power grid.
