Abstract The paper described development and application of Distributed RTU (DRTU) in railway electrical SCADA system. DRTU support many functions, including supervisory control, data acquisition, fault recording, electric fire monitor, power quality monitor, electric energy measurement, etc. DRTU can be installed on the cabinet in a distributed way and the solution is more efficient and economical. DRTU can completely replace the centralized RTU which is widely used in current railway electrical SCADA system.
