Abstract Targeted at the problems existing in the urban street lighting system, this paper has chosen LED street lamp as the lighting source and proposed the framework in which the primary station uses GPRS communication and street lamp node uses ZigBee communications. What is more, the LED street lamp terminal, concentrator and primary station are also designed accordingly. With CC2530 as the main control chip, this system is equipped with external circuit that is able to inspect the voltage, current and intensity of LED street lamp. On the basis of real-time inspection of environment temperature, this system can also realize the automatic adjustment of LED street lamp intensity according to lighting grade. It has been found that this system can not only achieve the great performance of energy conservation but also greatly promote the modern monitor of street lamp.
