Abstract  Wind turbine in order to achieve maximum capture of wind energy,it resultes that there is no relationship between the generator speed and the grid frequency and in the same time which resultes wind turbine does not have primary frequency regulation capability. For wind turbines primary frequency, we use speed control and pitch angle control strategies to solve this problem. Speed control strategies through droop control and virtual inertia control combine to change the generator speed to adjust the active output. Pitch Control Strategy through frequency and pitch characteristic curve, increasing or decreasing the pitch angle, change the active output. Direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator structure builts in PSCAD/EMTDC, and simulates speed and pitch angle control strategy, the simulation results show the effectiveness of frequency control strategies, proved by adding additional frequency policy, wind power units have a certain degree of frequency modulation capability.
